Associate Education Editor, Scholastic News (Location: New York)
Scholastic News Editions 3, 4 & 5/6 are current events educational publications for grades 3–6. We are looking to hire an Associate Education Editor to create an essential part of our package—the Teacher’s Guide—and to oversee our other educational assets. The editor will also create a strategy for communicating to teachers how Scholastic Classroom Magazines are an essential part of their classrooms. This job requires the ability to generate meaningful educational resources that align to rigorous education standards like the Common Core State Standards. The ideal candidate has editorial and writing experience, preferably for children’s publications, and a background in elementary education (teaching experience is a huge plus).
Responsibilities include:
- Write and edit weekly Teacher’s Guides
- Write and edit practice standardized tests, Pacing Guides, and other educational assets
- Develop webinars, ELA convention presentations and marketing materials
- Assist with the development and deployment of a cohesive social media strategy for the magazine

Master Data Senior Specialist (Location: New York)
Scholastic seeks a Master Data expert for Product on the Centralized Master Data Team. The ideal candidate understands STEP Master Data and its impact on the business units. The person in this position must be able to communicate with business units and analyze processes related to product set-up, and specify/configure applications to efficiently support and implement those requirements. The Specialist will also be able to provide training to master data organization to ensure that a complete understanding of product business processes exists among the master data organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Apply knowledge and understanding of divisional requirements appropriately in STEP
- Make recommendations to the business units based on such knowledge in STEP
- Specialize in key areas of Master Data such as error resolution and Master Data approval
- Communicate with the business units to understand requirements and identify priorities
- Provide training to Master Data Organization to ensure that a complete understanding exists among the team
- Identify new processes for the Master Data Organization, then implement, document and train the Master Data Organization with the new processes

Director of Rights & Global Publishing Strategy (Location: New York)
As part of our successful Trade division, Scholastic is seeking a focused, accomplished leader to be our Director of Rights & Global Publishing Strategy. The person in this position will be responsible for directing and executing rights across many of Scholastic's businesses, including our different brands on a domestic and international scale. The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of experience children's publishing, with knowledge of domestic and global rights and licensing.
Responsibilities include:

Information Security Architect (Location: New York)
The Information Security Architect is Is not only expert in the diversity of current risks and threats and means of addressing them, but also brings a broad technology background in development and technology operations. The person in this position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining portions of the Scholastic Technology Service (STS) Security Program, which is designed to ensure that the company’s technology systems and information assets are adequately protected. The Information Security Architect plays a critical role in ensuring that the various technical, process and people elements of Scholastic's security program result in a security posture consistent with policy, regulatory, and customer expectations and requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- A crucial element of this role is working with senior executives, line-of-business managers and other key decision makers to determine acceptable levels of residual risk for the company as a whole and for various internal departments and organizations
- Ensure that the customer and market facing security demands and expectations are well known (as they evolve and change over time), and that the related security designs either meet or are evolving to meet those demands
- Be the central point of design, and review and establish standards for the technical aspects of security to ensure that security components integrate into a comprehensive and effective security posture.
