The Carolina Panthers recently collaborated with Scholastic Book Fairs to bring “Keep Pounding Day” to North and South Carolina students. This year, “Keep Pounding Day” celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 1 – Carolina Panther players visited 25 communities across the Carolinas to participate in a variety of service projects.
In each of the communities, students received visits from the Carolina Panthers and were able to shop the Scholastic Book Fair for free! Students at Devers Elementary and Ridgeview Branch Library each received $10–$25 to shop the Scholastic Book Fair and add to their home libraries.
On “Keep Pounding Day,” kids are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes per day at home. “Keep Pounding Day” was founded in honor of former Panthers player and coach Sam Mills, who wore jersey number 51.
