Kwame Alexander, Pam Allyn, Carmen Agra Deedy, Barrington Irving and Lester Laminack were just a few of the inspiring speakers, authors and literacy champions who spoke to educators at Scholastic Education’s 2016 Reading Summit last weekend. The theme was “Building powerful, joyful and results-driven instruction,” but at its heart the event was a hopeful celebration of the power of books and reading to transform lives and help every child succeed.
