Celebrate Women’s History Month in your classroom with these free resources from Scholastic.com:

●Since 1910, March 8 has been observed as International Women's Day by people around the world. That is why March was chosen to be National Women's History Month in the United States, declared as such by a biennial Joint Resolution of the U.S. Congress since 1987. This resource will explain to students the idea behind creating Women’s History Month, and why it's observed in March.

●Educators from across the country share quick ideas to celebrate Women’s History Month including interviewing women in the local community.

●Sandra Day O'Conner, Harriett Tubman, Sacagawea, and Ramona Banuelos are a few of the famous women featured in this word find activity. After solving the puzzle, students are asked to select one of the women to research and write about.

●Students will learn about Amelia Earhart's short but incredible life by following a timeline and writing a news story.

●Celebrate Women’s History Month by studying how women have fought for equal rights.

● Students will love to learn more about famous women in history with this concentration activity.

●These women's suffrage activities will help students learn how women in the United States and around the world won the right to vote.

●This social studies activity focuses on accomplishments of women throughout history. Each student selects a famous woman to research, write about and create a mobile that can be displayed in class.
