BookFlix, a digital literacy resource for students in grades Pre-K–3, is turning 10 this year, and for all those who agree that one day just isn’t long enough to celebrate a birthday, you’ll be happy to hear that you’re invited to a ten-day-long celebration for #BookflixTurns10!
This early pioneer of digital literacy has stood the test of time, largely due to its unique approach of thematically pairing fiction and nonfiction titles and for its unmatched quality of content. Classic titles including Curious George, Where the Wild Things Are, and Harry the Dirty Dog have been animated by Weston Woods and expertly narrated by some of the most famous voice talent of our time. Each fiction title is then paired with a nonfiction Scholastic ebook to answer all of those questions sparked by the storybook. This paired approach develops literacy skills, real world knowledge, and helps early learners begin to differentiate fiction from nonfiction.
If you don’t already know BookFlix, now is a great time to get acquainted. On the Scholastic Librarians Facebook page we’re sharing favorite book pairs, a celebrity narrator quiz, adorable giveaways, a white paper showcasing how BookFlix promotes early literacy growth, and more. One party attendee will take home a gift bag filled with a one-year subscription to BookFlix!
Join the celebration and learn more at www.facebook.com/scholasticlibrarians and share your favorite BookFlix memory today!
