This has been an exciting year for the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps. Our dedicated Kid Reporters across the country, and around the world, uncovered fascinating stories and shared their insights online and with more than 25 million students in classrooms nationwide through Scholastic classroom magazines.
2014–2015 Kid Reporters interviewed civil rights hero Ruby Bridges, talked with President Barack Obama about schools of the future, sat down with Little League ace Mo’ne Davis, attended Super Bowl Media Day, caught up with author and entertainer Nick Cannon at the Kids’ Choice Awards, visited a real-life ice castle in Minnesota, watched the Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York City, reported on the Republican presidential debates, and so much more!
In order to be considered for the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, students must be between the ages of 10–14 (must be 10 years old by November 1, 2015), and complete an application, which includes writing a news story and an essay. Kid Reporters are chosen by Scholastic News Kids Press Corps editors. The new Kid Reporter team will be announced in early November.
What are you waiting for? Do you know a kid with a nose for news? Encourage them to apply today! All applications must be postmarked by Friday, September 25, 2015. No late applications will be accepted.
