On Friday the 13th The Scholastic Store was taken over…by kids with pajamas! 300 kids from five different New York City schools came by The Scholastic Store in Soho to drop off the pajamas they collected for The Pajama Program, a nonprofit that provides warm pajamas to kids in need. For each pair collected, Scholastic Reading Club donates a book to go with it!
Students from these schools collected nearly 1500 pajamas through fun activities, like hosting pajama day at school and encouraging students and staff to wear their pjs and bring some to donate. At other schools, the Student Council got involved, and gave speeches to their classmates to encourage them to help out. It was great to hear the teachers’ and students’ stories, and see how excited they were to donate the pjs they brought!
See how your school can get involved here!
