First look at data from the 8th edition of the landmark Kids & Family Reading Report, now available!
Over the years, Scholastic has been sharing the views of both kids and their parents on reading books for fun and what does - or does not - influence kids’ reading behaviors and attitudes. Summer reading has always been a key topic, and as the weather begins to warm up and school break plans shape, we wanted to share with schools and families how making connections can make summer reading successful - based on data!
We are proud to share our first infographic from the 8th edition all dedicated to summer reading and we thank District Administration for publishing an op-ed from Amanda Alexander, Chief Academic Officer, Scholastic, sharing more details and reactions to this important update. “Literacy skills are paramount for kids to grow both academically and emotionally and the research has shown us, time and time again, that reading over the summer helps students in the following school year,” said Amanda.
We’ll soon share the release date for the full report, so stay in touch with us for updates. For more information and to access past report click here.
