I had a lot of fun drawing these fellows and finding the cuteness in each. When my daughter was a little girl, I would take her to the zoo and of course we would say to the animals... “I’m wild about you!”

This Sunshine character did not make the cut when I decided that You Are My Cupcake was going to only feature food characters. However, you can catch Sunshine in my upcoming book, Count My Cupcakes 123.
Whooo Loves You? – Sandra Magsamen
We have a walking path near our home in Vermont and on the trail we often hear owls calling “whooooooo, whooooooo.” These calls were the inspiration for this book. I got to thinking about how do animals speak to each other and how do we tell one another we love you.
Hug You, Love You, Kiss You – Joyce Wan
Hearts are my favorite shape. I thought it would be fun to fill Hug You, Kiss You Love You with hearts. If you look in the background patterns and within the animals themselves, you will find hearts everywhere in the book.
BEEcause I Love You – Sandra Magsamen
I have always loved how we can play with words. A bee can be a bee or a be! There are a ton of words and phrases that begin with BE and most of them are really inspiring to me. I loved using BEEcause in a playful way, and I love these BE (BEE) words and phrases too….
