We've been talking about it for days now and it is finally here! The National Ceremony for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards at Carnegie Hall! Hundreds of teens representing the most creative and promising art and writing students from across the country are in town to join in the celebration. And you can too! Tonight at 6pmEST, the ceremony which features Nick Cannon, David Strathairn, Zac Posen and Kay WalkingStick will be broadcast LIVE! And just in case, it will be available on replay following the event. Just visit this link: http://www.artandwriting.org/carnegiewebcast2014/
And if you're in New York City, stop by the exhibit which is now open and free to the public through June 14th! More than 500 works will be on professional display and this fall, a portion of the exhibit will head out on a traveling tour. Finally, don't forget to look to the sky while you're here. We have THREE exciting acknowledgements soaring above us in New York City today. In Times Square, 1515 Broadway celebrates the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards on its jumbotron throughout the day. The mural of Steven Paul's Gold Medal photograph is complete and larger than life on the side of the building at 111 Broadway in Brooklyn. And tonight, the Empire State Building shines in gold! All of this thanks to amazing partners.
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers along with Scholastic are brimming with excitement and we hope you are too. If you're curious, view ALL of the stunning artwork and powerful writing of this year's winners, visit the online gallery of winning work found here: http://www.artandwriting.org/student-showcase/award-winning-works/
Congratulations to ALL of the student winners this year! You are our inspiration.
